W.M. Turner Auditorium is located within the Griffith Fine Arts Building on the main level (2nd floor), Room 202. The space accommodates just over 1000 patrons on two levels, seating approximately 650 on the floor and 350 in the balcony. Events included on the University and Mainstage Series are reserved while most other events are general admission. Seating information is printed on your ticket.
Floor seats are on the main level (2nd floor), and entrances are at the back of the auditorium at either the extreme left or right sides. The elevator is near the house left side, and the Box Office is closer to house right. Wheelchair seating is available on the floor level only.
The balcony is accessed from the 3rd floor. Flights of stairs on the right and left sides lead patrons to the balcony level. Unfortunately, wheelchair seating is not available in the balcony.
Named after William M. Turner, the college’s dean from 1965 to 1978, the auditorium is known for its excellent acoustics and comfortable seating arrangement. Patrons often comment there “isn’t a bad seat in the house.” The auditorium recently installed a state-of-the-art lighting system, which will expand technical capabilities and improve the patron experience.
Tickets to events in Turner may be purchased at the Fine Arts Box Office during regular office hours or online. On weekday performance dates for events in Turner Auditorium, we are open from 8 a.m. through intermission. For Saturday and Sunday events, the Box Office opens one hour prior to the performance start time. Purchases at the door may be paid by cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express or Jack Bucks.
