    Refined is a biennial exhibition of jewelry and metalwork hosted by the SFA Art Metals program. The theme of Refined IX: Humor is "A Bracelet, a Brooch, and a Teapot Walk into a Bar."

    Andy Cooperman, a studio metalsmith, educator and advocate in the metalworking and jewelry field is the juror for this year's competition and exhibition. Cooperman will give a lecture at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29, during which time he will present his work and announce winners. A reception follows from 6 to 8 p.m.

    Get ready for ArcAttack - the most electrifying science show on tour! Your students will explore concepts such as electricity, voltage and current, magnetism, robotics, and lightning through demonstrations and experiments with ArcAttack’s signature tesla coils, capable of throwing electrical arcs up to twelve feet long. The ArcAttack crew and their trusty robot take classrooms on an interactive journey of discovery where children will learn the science behind the amazing display they see on stage. In an era where science is no longer deemed “cool,” there finally is a show that not only teaches students the fundamentals of science and technology but also sparks their imagination, gets them excited about learning and makes them leap off their feet screaming for more!
