SFA’s “New” Original Cast presents an all-new musical comedy that celebrates families, home towns, and the unexpected hilarity that make holidays the most magical times of year. As an All-American town prepares for the annual holiday festival, two very different families compete for the honor of putting on the headlining pageant, resulting in conflict, chaos and near-catastrophe that can only be resolved with a Christmas miracle. Featuring traditional and contemporary holiday songs, “A Real Hometown Family Christmas Spectacle” features characters and situations developed by the eleven members of the cast. The “New” Original Cast features returning OC veterans Jonathan Garcia, Cynthia Law, Kory Pullam, and Corinne Shady, alongside new members Jennifer Bush, George Crispin, Lamar Jefferson, Benn May, Jennifer Suter, Samantha Walker and Kyla Williams. “A Real Hometown Family Christmas Spectacle” is conceived and directed by Dr. Jason Davids Scott, and co-directed by Professor Toni Smith.
All performances are in The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House, 329 E. Main St., downtown Nacogdoches.

Fiddling champion Eileen Ivers and her band, Immigrant Soul, return to SFA to once again capture the spirit and magic of the season with a program that features traditional Irish songs, original tunes and holiday favorites.
Don't miss the region-wide broadcast of O. Henry's "The Gift of the Magi," dramatized for the radio by Jack Heifner. On December 25 at 9:30 pm, Shreveport-based NPR affiliate Red River Radio (KLDN 88.9 FM in the Deep East Texas listening area) will play Jackie Rosenfeld's production of the classic Christmas story, performed by a cast of SFA theatre students and faculty. The show, which features original music by SFA music major Mason Lieberman, was recorded in our newly renovated sound laboratory by Prof. CC Conn, who also provided the sound design.
O. Henry's story of a loving and hard-working but impoverished young married couple in turn-of-the-20th-century America has been a holiday favorite for generations. Their selfless efforts to provide Christmas gifts for one another result in one of the most famously ironic endings of any short story in history. Heifner's version takes the form of a delightful 30-minute radio play framed by a notion of how the story may have come to be written.
Red River Radio has one of the largest geographical listening areas of any NPR affiliate in the U.S., covering much of northeastern and central Louisiana and southern Arkansas as well as most of East Texas. Its classical music and news/talk programming has loyal listener bases in the Shreveport-Bossier City (KDAQ 89.9 FM), Alexandria LA (KLSA 90.7 FM) and El Dorado AR (KBSA 90.9) areas as well as in Texas communities including Longview, Lufkin and Nacogdoches. The production had its world broadcast premiere on SFA's own KSAU-FM, with a listening area limited to the immediate vicinity of Nacogdoches.
Jack Heifner is SFA's playwright-in residence and a visiting professor in the School of Theatre. He is a veteran of Broadway, television and film, and his renowned, widely produced comedy Vanities had one of the most successful runs in Off Broadway history. Jackie Rosenfeld is senior lecturer in the School of Theatre. CC Conn is an assistant professor specializing in theatrical lighting and sound. Mason Lieberman is a sophomore focusing on music composition. The cast includes School of Theatre adjunct faculty member David Raine (an SFA alumnus) and exchange students from Rose Bruford College's American Theatre Arts program, as well as SFA students featuring freshman theatre major Katy Rutherford and junior theatre majors Benn May and John Lisi. The (New) Original Cast is heard in the role of a band of carolers singing on the snowy streets of New York City more than a hundred years ago.
