Diedrich Rulfs, the German-born architect who immigrated to Nacogdoches, Texas, in 1880, transformed the historic, frontier town into a modern city. The substantial visual legacy of Rulfs is highlighted in the photography of Christopher Talbot, SFA interim director of the School of Art.
A Nashville-based photographer and music video director, David McClister specializes in documentary, photojournalism and celebrity portraiture. In this series, McClister presents his up close and personal observations of the Southern small town wrestling scene.

“Silent Transmissions” includes thought-provoking paintings, sculptures and installations by Frances Bagley, Vincent Falsetta, James Marshall, John Pomara and Jay Shinn. Four of the five artists represented will be present for the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Art’s opening of the show at 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, at The Cole Art Center in downtown Nacogdoches.
